New Lenses and Intensifiers for Vortex

As part of our effort to provide more versatility and flexibility to the Vortex family, we have added three new lenses to our lighting modifier family, in addition to providing a 1-to-1 replacement for the previous model of flat diffuser (the old MED Diffuser is now called XWIDE Lens).

The WIDE Lens for Vortex4 and Vortex8 has a black frame, as the opposite side of the WIDE Lens is also the INTENSIFIER.

The WIDE Lens for Vortex24 – unlike the Vortex4 and Vortex8 – has a silver frame, as the Vortex24 INTENSIFIER is a separate, dedicated standalone unit with a black frame.

Additionally, we now also offer intensifiers for each Vortex Soft fixture. For the Vortex4 Soft and Vortex8 Soft, you simply flip your WIDE lens, and now it becomes an INTENSIFIER, and its black frame makes it easy to spot from afar and ties it more directly to the all-black Vortex Soft Series of fixtures. For the Vortex24, the INTENSIFIER is a dedicated standalone unit also with a black frame.

Each lens and intensifier also has a unique colour code to help simplify identification: blue for the NARROW lens; green for the INTERMEDIATE lens; red for the WIDE lens; bare silver for the XWIDE lens; and white for the INTENSIFIER.

The NARROW lens has the lightest diffusion effect while the XWIDE lens has the heaviest diffusion effect.

Medium Diffuser Replaced by XWIDE Lens

The new XWIDE Lens replaces the old Medium Diffuser. It has very similar beam angle and diffusion levels, and they can be used interchangeably.

Old Medium Diffuser and new XWIDE Lens can be used interchangeably.
